Chainalysis, through its government solutions unit, filed a challenge on July 27, 2026 in the US Court of Federal Claims over ICE's decision to award a sole-source contract to competitor TRM Labs.
A federal award notice values the one-year contract (July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027) at about $94.6 million. It covers forensic software and support services for Homeland Security Task Force investigations.
Chainalysis alleges the decision was arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable.
The complaint remains under seal (the court granted permission on July 31) because it contains confidential and proprietary information. TRM Labs intervened on July 28.
Both companies provide blockchain tracing tools used by US agencies.
