Fidelity Files to Let Its Spot ETH ETF (FETH) Stake Up to 100% of Holdings and Pay Quarterly Cash

Aug 14, 2026 · REGULATION

Fidelity has filed an amended registration statement with the SEC to add staking to its spot Ethereum ETF, FETH. FETH holds roughly USD 898 million in assets, making it one of the largest US spot ether ETFs. Under the proposal, the fund could stake up to 100% of its ether holdings. Fidelity would keep 85% of gross staking rewards, with the remaining 15% going to service providers. Net staking income would be distributed to shareholders as quarterly cash payouts. Staking cannot begin until the SEC registration becomes effective. Fidelity follows Grayscale, the first US issuer to stake within a spot ether ETP (October 2025), and BlackRock's staked ether ETF. The filing reflects the growth of on-chain yields inside regulated US products.
