Sep 2, 2026 · MACRO

All G20 members, under the rotating presidency of the United States, agreed on Tuesday that digital assets can support broad-based economic growth. In a statement released by the US Treasury Department, the group said every member recognized the transformative role of digital asset innovation. The body committed to responsible regulatory frameworks that preserve financial stability and establish clear pathways for digital asset innovation. It also urged improvements in cross-border payments and the transmission of financial services data. The G20 said it is awaiting results from the Financial Stability Board on global stablecoin arrangements and stablecoin data sources. The statement follows existing regional frameworks, including the EU's Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) rules and the US GENIUS Act for stablecoins.
