US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $517.2 million in net inflows on Wednesday, August 20, the largest single-day total since May 4. August net inflows now stand at $1.47 billion.
Since Monday, funds took in about $1 billion. That is the strongest weekly inflow since the week ended January 16, when they drew about $1.42 billion.
The inflows arrived as crypto rallied on a US Treasury decision to expand buybacks of longer-dated government debt, from $2 billion to at least $4 billion per operation starting September 9. Crypto regulation also returned to focus after President Trump urged Congress to advance the CLARITY Act at a White House event.
PrimeXBT analyst Jonatan Randin told Cointelegraph the market priced it as a currency event, not a growth one. Bitcoin moved with gold and silver rather than with risk appetite.
Spot Ether ETFs recorded $189.2 million in net inflows on Wednesday. Their week-to-date total reached about $291.5 million.
